In short

  • We read the public GitHub repository you submit to prepare questions about your code.
  • The interview is saved as a text transcript, together with the code change you make. Audio is never stored by Veritify.
  • If you answer by voice, short clips of your answers are sent to our AI provider (Mistral) to turn speech into text. We keep only the text. You can type your answers instead.
  • We note basic activity during the interview, such as leaving the tab or pasting text, as context for the reviewer. It never changes your scores.
  • A skills report is shared with the company you applied to, after review by the Veritify team. You can ask for a copy.
  • You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

What we collect from candidates

Your name, email address, the link to a public GitHub repository you choose, an optional GitHub username, the text transcript of your interview, the code change you make during it, and basic activity signals (how often you left the interview tab and how much text you pasted). We don't store audio or video.

How it's used

To prepare questions about your code, to produce a skills report for the company you applied to, and to improve the accuracy and fairness of our scoring. Scores reflect demonstrated skill and reasoning only; we never assess accent, fluency, pace or appearance. Every report is reviewed by a person before it is shared.

Who processes it

Your data is stored with our database provider in Australia. The content of your repository and your transcript are sent to our AI provider (Mistral) to generate questions and the report. If you answer by voice, short clips of your answers are sent to the same provider to convert speech to text. Our servers pass the audio through without storing it; only the resulting text is kept.

How long we keep it, and your choices

We keep candidate data for up to 12 months after the hiring round, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. To request a copy or deletion of your data, email hello@veritify.com.au. We action deletion requests within 7 days.
